Hey! I am Eliza Messerschmidt, RN, DNS-CT, WSOC. A little background: I was born in sunny California but raised in the freezing heart of North Dakota. I’m the youngest of three siblings—my oldest brother was killed in Iraq in 2006, and my other brother is a successful entrepreneur and world traveler now living in Texas. My mom was a nurse, and after serving in the military like my brother, I followed in her footsteps and became a nurse as well. She passed away unexpectedly in 2019, but her influence is deeply woven into who I am.

I’m married to my husband, Brett, and together we’re raising five wonderful, active children. We stay incredibly busy with a full schedule of sports and activities including volleyball, wrestling, basketball, baseball, football, softball, theater, and even drone racing.

I’ve been a nurse for over 11 years. Six of those years have been focused on long-term care and gerontology, three in hospice and home health, and two in maternal-child nursing. Most recently, I served as a Director of Nursing in North Dakota, where I helped lead significant improvements in quality and staff culture. I now work as a Senior Nurse Consultant, where I support facilities in identifying risks, maintaining regulatory compliance, and strengthening nurse leadership through training and mentorship.
